“If It Should Be”

“If it should be that I grow weak

And pain should keep me from my sleep;

Then you must do what must be done,

For this last battle can’t be won.

You will be sad, I understand;

But don’t let grief then stay your hand.

For this day more than all the rest,

Your love for me must stand the test.

We’ve had so many happy years;

What is to come can hold no fears.

You don’t want me to suffer so

The time has come, please let me go.

Take me where my needs they’ll tend,

But please stay with me til the end

To hold me close and speak to me

Until my eyes no longer see.”

We all loved you Clyde and you will forever be a part of the family. You were truly a man’s best friend and the best dog anyone could ever ask for. It absolutely killed us to have to put you down for you have brought so much joy and happiness in our lives. If there is any consolation – we can rest easier knowing that you are running around doggy heaven with a huge smile now. You have been with us through the good days and also consoled us on our bad days. God bless you and we’ll see you on the other side buddy.

“It’s not the years in your life that count, but the life in your years”

RIP Clyde (10/31-02 – 7/17/13)
